JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT

New York Rowing Junior Development Program

New York Rowing is pleased to offer our summer development program for those rowers looking to take their rowing sills to the next level. This six week session has been created for any rising varsity and existing varsity level rowers who want to increase their technical skill, strength and fitness.

The program will run Monday through Friday. Each day athletes will participate in both an off the water fitness and strength development session as well as an on the water skills development session. Rowers participating in this development program will have to opportunity to compete in two summer races. However, the overarching goal will be to fine tune the athletes’ technical skills in preparation for higher competitive rowing in the upcoming 2012/2013 season.

We hope that rowers will take advantage of this opportunity to further hone their rowing skills and increase their speed. After the end of the six weeks, those athletes who show rapid development will be offered the opportunity to continue training with the New York Rowing’s Competitive Rowing Program and to attend the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.
