New York Rowing Introduction To Rowing Class - Adults and Juniors
New York Rowing is pleased to announce our summer introduction to rowing classes. Over a course of two days we will provide athletes of all ages and abilities the opportunity to learn the basics of rowing. Athletes are welcome to sign up for one, two or more sessions scheduled through out the summer. After completion of the Introductory class, participants are encouraged to join our two week Learn to Row Program to further their technical skills and understanding of the sport of rowing. The goal of these classes are to provide a safe and fun environment where novices can learn about the basics of rowing.
Sessions will run on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Training will occur both on the water in rowing shells and off the water on rowing machines. Participates will learn the basic rowing terminology, how to use the rowing equipment, safety rules and precautions, as well as the fundamentals of the rowing stroke and boat mechanics.
