DO WORK

COMPETITIVE RACING TEAM

We are dedicated to helping our Junior U17, U19 and U23 athletes learn and appreciate the art of rowing while excelling at the top level of competition.

High school athletes from sophomore to senior years as well as college athletes with U23 eligibility  are welcome and will be coached to peak  rowing condition in a safe and fun environment.  The competitive team will ensure its members develop their rowing skills to the optimum level, while learning an appreciation of what it is to be competitive on the local, national and international stage.  While our overarching goal is to prepare the rowers for the competitive season and to strive to be the best, the top priority of the program is to provide an opportunity for athletes to learn the value of mastering new skills, the virtues of teamwork and the thrill of racing. We will challenge every athlete who comes to us to be the best that they can be!

Why the New York Rowing?
  • The core values taught are: safety; access and inclusiveness; competitiveness; collaboration; environment; and personal growth.
  • Our program is purposefully affordable
  • Coaches have collegiate-level or higher rowing experience and the head coach has coached teams/rowers to national medals

If for any reason you cannot attend a scheduled regatta you must inform your coach at the beginning of the season.  In addition, individual participation in regattas is based upon practice attendance, rowing ability, conditioning, the needs of the team, the availability of appropriate race entries and the coaches’ discretion.  Accordingly, racing in the regattas is NOT guaranteed however, every effort is made to insure maximum participation by team members.

Training is from 7-9am and 4-6pm weekdays and 7-9am Saturday mornings from June 25th through departure for Canadian Henley.
